The Sturdy folding powerchair

The Sturdy is a premium, strong and stable folding powerchair with long-range batteries.

The Sturdy is one of our most popular folding powerchairs, thanks to it’s outstanding looks and thoughtful features that make it a reliable tool for everyday use and travelling abroad. Featuring quick-release, high-capacity batteries that are still airline friendly as standard, all-round suspension via rear shocks and special honeycomb tyres, the sturdy is a stable, solid and robust chair that’s still incredibly flexible and portable.

Folding powerchairs are a difficult product to get right and while many of our online competitors are focused on selling and sourcing the cheapest-made options available, the Sturdy shares the same frame and components as our top-end Ultra Comfort Elite, designed to meet the needs of real powerchair users – a quality difference we’re sure you’ll both feel when driving, and see in the premium design once it’s in your hands.

Stand-Out Features

Long range AND Airline Friendly

Twin quick-release 9ah batteries give you a long range while still being under the limit for airline travel.

Easy Off Board Charging

No more kneeling down to remove the battery – Quick side release batteries can be charged on and off-board with a charger for each battery included.

Shock Absorbing Castors

Special honeycomb front tyres absorb impacts from kerbs and bumps.

Adjustable Footrest

3 Seat-to-footrest height settings: 42cm, 45cm, or 48cm.

Optional Boot Hoist

Weighs only 12.5kg! Battery-Powered, foot operated.

Suspension

Smooth driving is ensured thanks to a clever combination of chunky seat shock absorbers, pneumatic tyres, honeycomb impact-absorbing front tyres, and generous seat cushioning.

Easy to Fold

A large heavy-duty, spring-loaded clip at the back of the seat allows the chair to be easily folded and unfolded in seconds. When folded, the chair can also be easily pushed around when stood up.

Powerful 250w Motors

We’ve upped the power from our brushless motors to provide 500w of power combined. This is more than you typically see on folding powerchairs and gives the chair enough torque and ‘grunt’ to tackle slopes and other obstacles.

Upgraded Traction & Stability

We’ve made many revisions to ensure the best grip and stability possible for a folding chair – The tyres have been made stickier, the front castors updated to provide less turning resistance, and a revision to the overall balance of the frame.
